If you are visiting Bend, Oregon, and you love cozy cafes, independent bookshops, little nooks, and supporting small businesses, then I have found the perfect place for you to spend your first morning in Bend. As you pull into the historic downtown, you will find streets lined with cute shops and boutiques. Dudley’s Bookshop Cafe is among them.
Stepping through the door will feel like home.
Make your way up the book themed staircase.
Where you will find cozy nooks for reading.
And a whole room of both new and used books. My favorite: the travel section.
Once you find yourself a book to cuddle up with, make your way downstairs to the cafe. I had the most delicious tea.
My book of choice: A hardcover copy of Under The Tuscan Sun by Frances Mayes. I know that this book came out ages ago when I was just a kid and I have seen the fabulous movie, but I have never read the book. I found this copy for under $5 and it was in great shape. Because I finished all of the books I brought with me, I knew I needed something to read during the down time in our trip as well as the plane ride back.
What are your favorite independent book shops? Let me know in the comments below.
