Ten Things To Let Go Of This Weekend | Spring Cleaning Series

If you’re feeling a little stuck with your Spring cleaning this week, I have the perfect list of items to help you purge over the weekend. After a long winter we’re all deserving of a Spring refresh. I have listed ten items that are often used over long winter seasons, but may need removal or replacement now that Spring is finally here. Those items include winter wear, medicine, bedding, and entertainment items to name just a few. With them out of the way, think of all the extra space and time you will have to celebrate this lovely Spring.

1. Cases: DVDs, video games, CDs, etc. After donating what you no longer need or use, remove the cases to recycle them and place your discs in space saving CD binders. If you have a moderate or large collection, this can save you up to several feet of shelving space or free up a corner by your entertainment system.

2. Expired medicine. Winter is now behind us and chances are you have some old medicine to clean out. Let go of everything that looks bad or is expired.

3. Game boards. Donate what you lo longer play with or recycle old games that are missing pieces.

4. Winter clothes, accessories, and jackets that you didn’t wear this past winter.

5. Shoes and boots that are worn out beyond repair. Time to recycle those old shoes.

6. Ripped, worn, and ratty sheets and bedding. Some animal shelters take old linens to use as animal bedding.

7. Your flat, old, and dirty pillows. They’ve accumulated enough germs over the winter, plus your neck will thank you when it finally has some decent support.

8. Extra mugs that have taken over your kitchen cabinet. These are popular holiday gifts and chances are, you might have accumulated more than you or your family needs.

9. Books that you have no intention of ever reading.

10. Old magazines that you will never read again. You can always pass these on to friends who might enjoy them or recycle them instead of just adding them to the trash.
