2019 Was one of my most difficult years mentally, but also one of my most empowering and adventurous. Before 2019, I thought the year before had been tough. All I know is that I’m in a better place now and I have the love of many good people in my life. I know that this post is a few weeks late with my new website being updated and all, but I figured that a recap is always fun to share. With all the negatives that happened within my personal life, I am so thankful for a new beginning and I am also so thankful to be able to look back and recognize all the good that happened too.
We begin our journey into 2019 on New Years day in New York City at Rockefeller Center. A life goal for me and my friends to skate at the rink at Rockefeller was checked off of our list first thing in the morning.
January brought us a trip to Oregon, with a day long layover in San Diego to see Matthew’s cousin. We then flew to Portland and drove to Bend to visit with my brother, sister-in-law, and our sweet niece. These photos are a little out of order, but the journey was incredible. We saw so many different landscapes in that short 4.5 hour drive.
We loved seeing my brother and his family’s new home and town. Bend is a gem.
The Connecticut State Library; one of my favorite places.
More Bend and Portland (with so many photos, I’m having trouble keeping them all in order).
A last minute work trip took Matthew to a ton right outside Yosemite and I went with him! We flew into San Francisco, went to his job site, spend one day in Yosemite while we were there, and stopped along Napa Valley and the Golden Gate Bridge on our return back for our flight.
I also got to check snow showing off my life goal list!
Finally, Spring had arrived. It really was a long, cold, and lonely winter.
I photographed a friend’s engagement in Sedona Arizona. I brought along my own fringe denim jacket that I made and we had some fun. It was the the most free I had felt all year.
Made some lovely new blogger friends. I’m at a Bird Social Media Event with Lydia and Meghan pictured here.
Some adventures in the White Mountains.
Our one year wedding anniversary in Sugar Hill.
A Penguin Encounter at Mystic Aquarius with good friends.
More Arizona memories.
The Great Connecticut Ice Cream Trail.
Many Connecticut day trips.
Kennebunkport, Maine.
I’m so blessed to have so many wonderful friends. I am pictured here with Kassondra, a wonderful friend.
A beautiful collaboration with Tide Hill Home.
Peach picking at Lyman Orchards.
At the very end of summer I went on a trip to Bali. I’ll be sharing those photos on the blog soon. When I returned, autumn in New England was in full swing.
A holiday getaway at the Mayflower Inn and Spa.
I hope that you too are able to look back at the best moments of your past year and smile.
