Suzanna and David’s Yale engagement session took place on a beautiful and mild late spring day. Rain was in the forecast, yet it turned out to be the most lovely day for their engagement session at the New Haven campus. We arrived in the early morning on a Sunday and the timing worked perfectly because the graduating class of 2019 was preparing for their graduation ceremony. The students, dressed in their ceremonial robes, ushered into the buildings with their families and professors, leaving the campus quiet and empty for our short visit for photographs.
I first met David and Suzanna at the Stamford Bridal Expo this January and we met up in person shortly after to create a custom engagement session to celebrate this magnificent time in their lives. Together, I believe that we created something truly magical. At first we thought to do the cherry blossoms, however, there was an extraordinary amount of rainy days this season and every available day became washed out. I really do believe that everything works out the way that it is supposed to because we ended up with this absolutely perfect day and romantic setting at Yale instead. Their matching navy blue outfits blended beautifully with the campus and brought an element of sophistication to their engagement. I truly believe that an engagement photo shoot is a time to celebrate, and dressing for the occasion marks just how special this time is. Suzanna looked gorgeous in her blue gown and David looked handsome in his matching navy blazer, which was so romantic with the setting and all of the lovely spring flowers.
If you’re considering a city engagement session of your own, I always recommend starting the day early (immediately after sunrise) on a Sunday morning to avoid early morning rush hour and tourist crowds. It felt as if the city was there just for Suzanna and David that morning.
Congratulations David and Suzanna!
