The Little Things No. 31

The little things really do add up, which is why every Friday I end the week on a positive note with appreciation for the little things in my life that make up a greater sense of joy.  I hope you join me today in appreciating the good, no matter how small. I will also be sharing links from time to time about things that are inspirational, funny, beautiful, or important.

Because this is about appreciation rather than perfection, I’m not only including my professional quality photos, but some cellphone snaps as well. You can expect to see a more candid look into my life every week with my The Little Things blog posts every Friday.

Dear Friends,

I finally admit that fall is nearly here. It got chilly in Connecticut this week! It was a beautiful, although cold, morning and I spent it with my sister Jennifer who turned thirty yesterday and her two kids. It felt so nice to walk through her neighborhood then spend time in her yard. I can’t wait to have a yard one day.

Last week was a difficult week for numerous reasons, but I also photographed a wedding so there was definitely a silver lining. I’m sad with autumn coming because all of the New England festivals and fairs have been cancelled this year. It doesn’t feel quite the same without saying goodbye to summer at the Bethlehem fair. And as sad as I was to retire my swimsuits for the season, I’m really looking forward to sweater weather. I even thrifted some nice blazers recently that I cannot wait to wear this fall. So I’m doing my best to get into the autumn spirit.

How do you celebrate the end of summer and the beginning of fall?

The little things I appreciate this week:

The line at Trader Joe’s is getting smaller now that people are no longer panicking over the pandemic. We still wait in line and wear our masks, but it feels nice that things are slowing down in Connecticut.

I have been eating really healthy this week and I ams o thankful for the affordable options at Trader Joe’s. I’m making our lunches from now on to be healthier and to save money as we’re trying to save up for a house.

Fall fashion! I’ve been trying on my clothes and curating my closet for the fresh season. Also hoping to donate some clothes as I do want to minimize a little bit.

We had family visit this weekend and we took them to visit one of our favorite little downtowns.

This sweet patient pup.

We wandering into a local church and had no idea it was this incredible on the inside!!! We love discovering new places close to home.

These end of summer flowers that are still holding on before the autumn chill sets in.

What little things do you appreciate this week?

With appreciation,

Courtney
