Things I Like | Spring Edition

This list is entirely self indulgent. I can think of very few reasons why someone else may choose to read this list, except for the fact that it may also bring you a little joy. Perhaps we are two kindred spirits in love with the same simple beauties of spring or maybe you too are so happy that spring is just days away.

I often make these little lists as a way to practice gratitude, to remind myself of all the good when the world appears very bleak indeed, and as a pick-me-up for an instant mood lift.

If you have a moment now or some time today, pick up a pen and in your favorite notebook, planner, or even on a scrap piece of paper, write down a minimum of ten things you love about springtime or that you love to do during the spring. It can be absolutely anything you enjoy and look forward to, no matter how small. Use this list as your gratitude practice today and take a look at it each time you are feeling the teeniest bit gloomy.

Without further ado, here is my very long list of things I like about spring…

 

  • Longer sunny days
  • Planting seeds for my vegetable garden
  • Flowering trees
  • Warm sun on my face
  • Daffodil fields
  • All of the spring flowers
  • Springtime bicycle rides
  • Watching the beavers come out of their homes
  • The return of the birds and birdsong
  • Collecting flowers for my flower press
  • Spring themed crafts
  • A springtime tea party with friends
  • Reading outside again on a warm day
  • Opening the windows and letting in fresh air
  • Beatrix Potter’s darling little books
  • Re-reading spring favorites like Anne of Green Gables
  • New England maple syrup season
  • Morning walks
  • Wearing pastels and floral prints
  • Taking our my spring wardrobe
  • Making dandelion healing body oil
  • Natural honeysuckle soap
  • Chamomile tea
  • Using my spring teacup in the morning
  • Painting outside
  • A spring picnic
