Dear Friends,
March was a slow month. Instead of pressuring myself to feel productive I thought I should keep going forward slowly. I like creating for my blog, but the pressure to constantly tip up my content is strong. We don’t expect the trees to sprout leaves in March as we know the buds are starting to appear and the leaves will be here by late April and early May. So why do I always put more pressure on myself? I hope that if you’re feeling springtime slowly emerge that you are living in the moment and appreciating it as it comes. Each day I find little things to be grateful for.
I enjoy sharing these little glimpses into my life from my camera roll for this exact reason. They’re simple. They’re real. My professional photography is real too, but these phone snaps do to need to be edited or curated. They simply are. These are the little things that make up my days, my months, and my years. this month I encourage you to stop feeling the need to produce and simply feel the need to be right here.
This month:
Some flowers have started popping up.
We have gone on some interesting foggy and rainy day walks.
Betty the Beaver is out of hibernation at the pond behind our home.
My tomato plants have begun to sprout.
Visited this cute sustainable shop Hope & Honey in downtown Litchfield. I met the lovely owner, Leah at Target and she invited me to visit her lovely boutique. I loved learning about how she gives back to women owned businesses and supports important causes. You can learn more about her boutique here.
I started painting again. This is my second attempt at a landscape and I’m really proud of it.
I’m starting with very small canvases so I will not be as intimidated.
Madeleine loves it when I paint.
These seeds.
Matthew and I joined a local Gen & Mineral Club. We took a walk to a quarry and found a lot of quartz.
Matthew lost my yoga mat at his gym (but later he did find it). He bought me the prettiest replacement so I can start my new yoga practice at my new gym.
This Ilia lipstick in “Rosette”. So lovely for spring.
All the historical romance novels (with a feminist twist) that I can get my hands on.
This little darling.
This gluten-free anti-inflammatory organic berry crumble I made up myself.
A few things I appreciation this month:
The smallest library in Maine is stocking its shelves with banned books.
Reclaiming The Wonder of an Ordinary Life
Have a lovely weekend.
With appreciation,
Courtney
