Last year I decorated a cornucopia of my very own for a Thanksgiving table centerpiece. Cornucopias are a beautiful and historic tradition and this year I have the honor of teaching a cornucopia decorating class at the Hope & Honey Boutique in Litchfield, Connecticut. If you have ever wanted to decorate one of your own, here is your chance.
Each ticket comes with an authentic 12″ cornucopia basket of your very own to decorate. All decorations are included from fake flowers and foliage to mini pumpkins, and dazzling decorations to fill your basket with. Sip some tea and eat some delicious autumnal treats as you learn about the history of “the horn of plenty” and decorate one of your very own to bring home for your Thanksgiving centerpiece. Families can decorate a cornucopia together or purchase additional tickets for extra cornucopia baskets. Each ticket is $60 and includes the cornucopia and all decorating supplies.
What I love most about the cornucopia baskets besides the tradition of it all is that it is a collection of the season’s harvest. Personally, I like to fill mine with my favorite flowers and harvest items like apples, citrus, and mini pumpkins. Traditionally, many cornucopias were used to hold fruit or for gift baskets given to those in need to supply families with a holiday harvest.
You can make your own horn of plenty harvest basket when you book your ticket.
