Shakespeare On The Shoreline | Guilford Green | Connecticut Charm

I cannot say enough amazing things about Shakespeare on the Shoreline. Click on this link and learn more about them here. For their August performance in the town green in Guilford, Shakespearian Productions from Waterbury CT, played The Tempest. Shakespearian Productions performs across Connecticut, including the Woodbury area. My good friend Ben and I had never seen The Tempest before so we grabbed a chair and a beach blanket and made our way to the Guilford Green on a beautiful Friday evening.

The matching clothing was completely coincidental!

We took our Italian ice (thank you, Ben!) back to our seats and waited for the show to start.

And we were amazed! The Guilford Green was transformed into the little island in Shakespeare’s play. We all had a great laugh when several of the characters added in a funny and spontaneous musical number in the middle of the performance.

During intermission we took a short walk around town. Guilford is absolutely lovely. It was another town on my list that I had heard so much about, but had never been. I felt like a great adventurer in my home state. I need to go back to try the cafes and the chocolate shop. There is also a Spice & Tea Exchange like the one in Mystic and a book shop!

I can be a little shy, but Ben made me get into the pictures with some actors at the end of the play for a meet-and-greet! All too soon, we were driving back through New Haven on our way home.

Next year I hope to catch their next show. I heard that they do a great performance of the Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe right on the beach.
