Jamilah and Jim were married on September 23rd at the Waterview in Monroe Connecticut, almost exactly one year from their engagement shoot that we did at Lyman Orchard’s last Fall. The Waterview is an absolutely lovely location right on Lake Zoar, a part of the Housatonic River and the very same lake that I grew up on. The lake is gorgeous this time of year as the leaves are just beginning to change.
Milah had this beautiful picture frame made to carry the memory of her father with her down the aisle. This beautiful frame was attached to her bouquet and carried close to her heart. This beautiful Tiffany necklace was a special wedding gift to Milah from Jim.
As a wedding gift to Jim, Milah had these cuff links made with their initials and wedding date engraved on them.
I adore first looks before a wedding because they give the couple a special moment together before the ceremony and the rush of the reception. These moments as the groom waits to see his bride for the first time is one of my favorite moments. Before the ceremony, Milah and Jim surprised one another at the gazebo in Monroe.
The anticipation of waiting for the ceremony to begin.
The ceremony began right outside the venue overlooking the lake as the sun began to set in the early Autumn sky. Guests walked by this lovely sign on their way to their seats.
Congratulations, Jamilah and Jim!
