Happy Autumn! The leaves are vibrant, apple pies are baking, and pumpkins are being carved. Some of you may find this family familiar and you are right. Exactly one year ago I had the honor of photographing Jess and Chris’s Herrington Bay Wedding which you can see here. I have also photographed little Riley’s recent 2nd birthday party. I was thrilled when Jess asked to book an apple picking family session with me at Gaver Farm because it is such a fun family activity and a wonderful opportunity for memorable family photos. This session was exciting because it was more than a family photo shoot, it was also an anniversary mini session.
Riley kept us busy with his endless energy so we had to take these shots quickly in between out takes of chasing Riley from the other rows in the apple orchard. For families out there with toddlers, getting perfect posed images every time is not very likely, so having a fun (and picturesque!) activity to do together such as apple or pumpkin picking is a great way to get lovely candid photos of your child having fun. Props, such as these amazing apple and pumpkin signs hand made by Jess, are also a fun way to add variety.
Thank you, Jess and Chris for asking me to once again photograph your beautiful family! I’m beginning to feel like we are cousins that you see at every family pic nic. I also made the most delicious apple pie with the basket of apples you gave me to bring home. Enjoy your autumn adventures.
