Autumn In New England | October Premiere

No place does autumn quite like New England. The small colonial towns come to life as the leaves begin to change. This is the time when the small towns thrive, the farm stands boast their harvest, and that “hallmark movie feeling” starts to permeate our daily lives. Apple picking, pumpkin patches, corn mazes, butternut squash, Halloween festivities, country fairs, farmers markets, haunted houses, hayrides, hot apple cider, and apple pies. It is a season abundant in flavor and scents. Shops begin to smell like cinnamon and cozy sweaters keep you warm in the autumn chill. The smell of drying leaves fills the air. I love New England, but I especially adore it this time of the year.

Every year on the blog I bring you autumn-themed posts including my favorite apple orchards and fall themed activities. I share my favorite towns to visit in New England in the fall and my very best road trip inspiration. This year I plan on continuing the tradition, but with a twist. I want to share my posts as an “Autumn in New England” series because I feel that the change of seasons is really worth celebrating. I truly want to go all-in this year and share the absolute best that New England has to offer to help you live your best life this autumn, whether you’re a local, visitor for the season, or live far away.

The autumn season is special because the changing season reminds us to slow down. The beaches are empty, the bustle of summer picnics and activities is behind us, and the kids are back in school. Even city dwellers begin to slow down with pumpkin spice and farm stands.

Life is not perfect. It is often a struggle and the U.S. this year has faced many hardships and divides, but seasonal traditions bring us all a little bit closer. I hope to share that sense of warmth and community with you this fall. Starting October 1st, you can expect weekly autumn posts about farms that have not yet been featured on Live Lovely, autumn recipes, day trip inspiration, and seasonal wellbeing.
