On October first we are back to my (as of last year) annual Autumn In New England series. -A blog series designed to give you all the cozy autumn feels, inspiration for fall activities and fashion, as well as a healthy dose of autumnal well being. This series is for everyone who loves autumn, not just New Englanders or people planning to visit New England this fall. Since starting my blog I have been sharing New England travel and lifestyle posts, but it was not until last year that I dedicated an entire series to autumn in New England. It is my hope that it will become a heartwarming tradition, not just for myself, but for the lovely people who read this blog. This series is a place to return to for autumn inspiration, tradition and comfort year after year.
In the past I have brought you unique autumn experiences to try, shared my grandmother’s apple dump cake recipe, brought you to quiet little New England cider mills, shared autumn reading lists, and gave you inside tips for New England autumn road trips and weekend getaways. I took you on a cozy lakeside retreat in Vermont and Halloween in Salem, Massachusetts. I have shared my favorite apple orchards and articles about slowing down for fall. (You can see them all under the Autumn In New England category under the New England tab at the top of this page.)
Granted, this fall does look a little different. With local fairs and festivals completely cancelled and thousands fleeing cities to the country side, our local orchards are going to be a little extra busy this year and mask wearing is a given, but we can still embrace the outdoors, our autumn traditions, and the season. There is so much joy to be found in a crisp autumn walk, a leaf peeping trip, kayaking out on a lake that reflects all the golden leaves, some delicious apple crisp, autumn hikes, comfortable cozy sweaters, and yes, the much revered pumpkin spice. It is my hope that this annual blog series will bring you all the joyful autumn feels and inspire your next autumn adventure, no matter how big or small.
This season I will be bringing you a new list of lovely autumn activities to delve into, a leaf peeping trip to New Hampshire, a cozy recipe or two, some classic autumn outfit inspiration, car camping inspiration (and tips for how to), a new collection of local apple orchards, and so much more. I hope you’re ready for it!
