Connecticut Charm | Woodbury Post Office

Right across the street from the Historic Downtown Woodbury post office you will see a collection of beautiful flowering crab apple trees. The little park takes up a small area between the town hall and the post office. It hosts a little memorial for woodbury soldiers, numerous benches, and a collection of the most beautiful flowering trees. Above the treetops towers the tall steeple of an old white 1700s church and another old church stands sturdy at the other end of the street. I pass by the flowers every morning on my way to pick up the mail for work and knew that I had to come back to spend more time before the petals begin to fall. As it was a chilly day, I wore my new trench coat (Belle Badgley Mischka Women’s Angelina Trench Coat,), and grabbed my basket and my Fuji X100 T. 

The beauty of the detail shots taken with my Fujifilm X100T  camera still astound me. It is a great little camera. I still prefer my Nikon D600  for portraits because my 50mm 1.4 lens is stunning in natural light.

Unfortunately the sun was tucked away behind some clouds, but it was still a gorgeous site. Walkers, joggers, bicyclists, and people walking with their dogs on leashes and children in strollers were constantly walking past and through the petite park.

I was wearing all pink for the occasion, including my new pink trench coat that I found at Macy’s Backstage in Meriden. As you can see, there was plenty of frolicking in the flowers. This is the exact same trench coat I bought (in the pink option):
            

I always thought that Summer and Autumn were my favorite times of the year, but the truth is that each season arrives just when I need it the most. This season, I’m in love with Spring, especially the flowers.

I truly love Connecticut’s small historical towns. Woodbury is the home to hundreds of antique homes, all immaculately kept, including a surprisingly large collection from the 1600s.
