Emily & Ben’s Annapolis Wedding Part One – Maryland Wedding Photographer

Emily and Ben were married at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis, MD on Saturday, August 24, 2013. Emily and I had talked over the phone several times before the event and shared countless e-mails, but nothing could prepare me for all of the fun and thoughtful details that Emily had planned.

Emily told me their romantic story and I am going to paraphrase it for you, hopefully accurately. Emily and Ben met when Emily was in college. Ben worked as a bouncer at a local bar where a friend brought her to one night. Emily told me that she hadn’t wanted to go out that night, but the moment she saw Ben she knew she had to talk to him. Unfortunately, Ben at the time thought that Emily was with the friend she was with so he didn’t react to her flirting. It wasn’t until later when her friend put in a good word for her that Ben realized that she was actually single. They did not see one another again until a couple months later. This time, Emily asked Ben to walk her home and he did. She asked him on their first date, initiated the first kiss, and even asked Ben to marry her. Of course, he said yes! And about two years later they were married in Annapolis where I was fortunate enough to be an observer on their beautiful day.

Rent the Runway is a seriously awesome idea. Emily told me all about it. You can rent all kinds of clothes and accessories (things that I could never dream of affording) to wear for a special event. If I even go to a grand ball one day (wishful thinking) I am going to rent the runway.Emily is the first bride I have ever met that brought a sewing machine to the hotel. This gal is super creative!

Emily and Ben were married right between these amazing flowers. All the boats were sailing by. So romantic! *sigh*Every detail was well planned. This lovely little gazebo below is where Emily got ready for the ceremony. (A photographer’s getting-ready location dream.)One sleepy flower girl. Meet Lu Lu. This little sweet heart told her mom that to be a good flower girl “practice makes perfect.” She tired herself out practicing her descent down the aisle. Too cute!

This is little Jacob. He was the ring bearer and Ben’s little brother.
