Newport Rhode Island is a place that has special meaning for Kassondra and Ian. The Harbor and “The Breakers” cliff walk has been a romantic retreat for them over the past few years so it is no surprise that it was their first choice location for their engagement session. We started our journey at the elegant Vanderbilt Mansion overlooking the ocean. The creamy grey facade of the mansion along with the sophisticated gardens painted a scene reminiscent of Monet’s France.
The weather called for storms, but instead we were gifted with a beautiful blue sky. It was the first nice weekend of Spring so the town was crowded with locals and tourists alike. For a quiet reprieve we took an adventure to Beavertail State Park, right over the bridge in Jamestown. The lighthouse, mists from the water crashing against the black rock cliffs, and the soft light of the sunset made a timeless backdrop to end this engagement session. I had so much fun exploring Newport (my first time in the seaside city!) with Kassondra and Ian. The engagement shoot was a fun day of exploring the cliff walk and unexpected finds around the town. It is the absolute best how Ian can continuously make Kassondra laugh. I can only imagine how much fun their wedding will be.
