Kassondra and Ian were married at the Wadsworth mansion in Middletown, Connecticut on Friday, September 16, 2016. I love Friday weddings, especially because it feels as if I am playing hooky from every day life and my weekend gets an early start. The Wadsworth Mansion is a stunning venue that reminds me of a more romantic rendition of the White House with it’s cream facade and grand pillars. Jessica, the event coordinator, did an excellent job of running the event.
When I first met Kassondra and Ian earlier this year, I knew that photographic magic would happen (they are so great together!), but I did not anticipate the gift of extra time for photographs. With a first look and extra time built into the schedule, I was given the opportunity to take more photos that I usually get at a wedding day.
First looks are still relatively new to the wedding scene, and I have to express that I love them more and more with each first look. They are romantic, allows the couple to have an intimate moment together before the chaos of the wedding day, and allows more time for photos and simplicity on an otherwise busy day. Kassondra and Ian’s wedding was designed by both of them with the same love and attention that I know they are going to give to their marriage. Their wedding day was like a story from a Jane Austen novel, full of beauty, love, and a great story. I drove home that evening with not just the photographs that I could not wait to add to my portfolio, but with the excitement of knowing that I made two incredible new friends.
Congratulations, Kassondra and Ian!
