This is one of the outfits I have had on repeat all summer. I bought this blue and white checker maxi dress from TJ Maxx earlier this season as well as this striped sweater with the giant lemon print on the front. It is not secret that I love anything with a lemon print. If it has florals, stripes, gingham, polka dots, lemons, strawberries, tomatoes or a veggie print, I am going to love it.
The sweater would probably look better paired with some denim jeans or shorts. It is a little frumpy layered over the tie on this dress, but I love the way it feels and looking down at the stipes and lemons brings me joy. There is something about the swish of a long dress and walking barefoot in the grass and the coziness of a knit in the chill of a summer evening.

I was very tired when I took these photos. It had been a long day, a long week to be exact, but I was walking through our yard and watering the garden. A spark of joy lit within me. With tired eyes and messy hair, I decided to snap a few photos of this outfit for the joy of it all.
I’m not a fashion blogger, but maybe blogs would be more fun if we showed off our favorite outfits more often instead of clothing hauls. What if we shared photos of the outfits that bring us joy, even if they’re not “flattering” or that outfit that makes you feel great even if it’s not trendy? What if we all pulled out the outfits we re-wear constantly and took photos? The trusty worn in pair of jeans. The cozy sweater with pilling on the sleeve because it is worn and loved so much. That new-ish summer dress you’ve been wearing every week or an old favorite from many years back that still swishes just right.
