Mary Catherine and Robby’s wedding was my final wedding for the Autumn season. The day started off with heavy rain and turned into the perfect Fall day for an outdoor ceremony. Despite the clouds, we had a day filled with vibrant Autumn leaves, soft dreamy light, and this incredible couple. I have truly enjoyed getting to know Mary Catherine and Robby from our adventures photographing their engagement photos in Disney World last November (and a winter wonderland engagement shoot in the snow at the beginning of the year). Their Woodwinds Wedding in Branford Connecticut was the perfect happily ever after to their Disney-like romance. They met for the first time in person at Disney World and their wedding day was filled with subtle hints to their beautiful beginning. The bridesmaids had a Disney movie marathon while they were getting ready and the ceremony was filled with hidden gems.

One of the many things I love about weddings is the unique ways each couple makes their day special to them. Mary Catherine surprised her mother by wearing her veil for the ceremony. She told her mother that she was going to recreate a new veil out of the old one, but surprised her mother by making only minimal changes to the design to fix a small area where the veil had ripped in the past. I love being a part of these moments to capture photos like this one.

It is not every day that I get the opportunity to photograph a first look, especially a first look on a beach!

The ceremony was held at the beautiful Woodwinds venue in Branford Connecticut at the gazebo in the front lawn.

Their cake topper was a reflection of their first meeting in Disney. Another special detail on their table was the Beauty and the Best inspired rose at the head of their table. The rose had four petals fallen beneath it. Each of those petals represented a year that they have been together.

The dancing at their reception has been by far some of the most animated I have ever seen as a photographer. It was a really great group of people dancing to great tunes selected by their DJs, Geoff and Grace.
