Recently I shared my hair care journey with my experience of hair loss due to extreme stress. It took several months and plenty of research to reverse the damage and along the way I discovered a new natural hair care line that I absolutely adore. -Just Nutritive. Hand made in small batches in Florida, Just Nutritive products are made from natural high quality ingredients. They are a little expensive for my modest budget, but also full of value and they come in good sized bottles and containers so you do get a lot for what you pay for, making them an expense that is worth the extra. They smell earthy and most importantly, they work!
This is not a sponsored post in any way, but rather my thoughts on the Just Nutritive hair products I have been using and loving lately. I’ve spoken to a few women recently who have also suffered from bald spots due to stress or post-partum hormones. I feel that using hair products that work for your personal hair type (and the environment too) is the best way to go. These products work for my 2A-2B curls. My best advice is to learn about your natural hair and find products that work well for you. What is your curl type (if you have one)? Is your hair oily or dry? Does it need to be washed frequently or can you go many days between washes?
For me, my love for Just Nutritive started when, after much research, I decided to try the Grow New Hair serum. (You can click on the photos for links to their store.) After several weeks I started noticing new hair growth and my hair looks much healthier. It is not an over night miracle and I also had to put in a lot of work to reduce my stress and take proper care of my health to get there, but I feelthat this product was a major component of my hair recovery journey. It also came with a sample for Hair Therapy Shampoo. My current shampoo was very drying on my hair and was causing a lot of frizz. This shampoo worked like a dream so I decided to order it and I started looking into their other products.
As much as I love the shampoo, this conditioner is even better. It feels so soft, and in a way; “fluffy” like a whipped cream as it moisturizes my hair.
I also tried the Herbal Gel for Curly Hair. It is a light weight formula that works nicely without being sticky or crunchy, but it is not quite powerful enough to battle my summer time frizz. Lovely for winter, I’m happy with this one, but it might not work well with every hair type.
The vinegar rinse cleanser is one of my personal favorites. I went the cheaper route and used organic apple cider vinegar right out of the bottle. It worked great, but it also caused my skin to turn red and sensitive and the smell was a bit much, especially for my husband. Finally, I decided to give this a try. This cleanser is more gentle and still has a vinegar smell, but works well without giving you a completely overpowering odor. Still, I tend to use this product sparingly and on days when I’m not going into the office just in case. Cleansing my hair of extra oils and product build up has become an essential part of my hair care routine.
These days I’m really doing my best to nurture my scalp and my hair. I’m enjoying my natural texture, whether it is curly one day or wavy and wild the next. Using natural products is so very important to me, as is taking care of myself. Just Nutritive nurtures my hair without negative effects to my body or the earth. As much as I wish I could go plastic-free with a shampoo bar instead, it simply does not work for my hair type. Maybe one day Just Nutritive will be making some shampoo and conditioner bars too. Do you use Just Nutritive? I would love to hear your thoughts (or answer your questions) in the comments below.
