My New England Summer Wish List

At the start of every season I make a seasonal wish list of local places to explore (some I have not seen yet and others that I would like to return to), summer time activities, and projects I want to create. Summer is a magical time of year. I love all the seasons for the special gifts each season brings, but summer holds a very special place in my heart. It has always been more than a time of warmth for me. Summer has been the time where I get to be completely myself and let my creativity shine. The days are slow, but they go by so fast.

There are so many items that make it on my summer wish list every year, but this year these are my top items. If you’re looking for a complete summer bucket list for New England, this isn’t it, but I would be happy to recommend my favorite summer places and activities. In fact, I should probably make a blog post for just that. These are the items that made it onto my summer wish list this year:

  • Go for a morning swim in a local pond or lake when the water is quiet

  • Find a new-to-me sunflower field

  • Kayak through the White Memorial Conservation Center in Litchfield

  • Watch the 4th of July fireworks over the water

  • Have a girl’s weekend with my friends

  • Go strawberry picking

  • Get a “cheeser” calzone at Mystic Pizza

  • Swim at Diana’s Baths in North Conway, New Hampshire

  • Finish organizing my pantry and make decorative lids for pantry jars

  • Do a Mamma Mia themed photo shoot by the water

  • Have a beach day

  • Spend a day in Providence, Rhode Island

  • Bring my husband whale watching in Cape Cod

  • Spend a day enjoying Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire (Maybe even a sunset dinner cruise on the water)

  • Eat a buttery hot lobster roll at Lobster Landing in Clinton, Connecticut
