I used to love making myself summer reading lists. As a kid in school, I was always given a list, but then I would write below all the books that I really wanted to read just for me.
My husband tells me that I tend to put to much pressure on myself to get everything done, which is why this year my summer reading list is a wish list, not a to-do list. I am not going to put pressure on myself to read every book on my wish list, nor will I force myself to complete a book if I am really not enjoying it. I might also pick something up that is not even on my list at all.
My interests are quite eclectic. I mostly love reading travel memoirs, contemporary romance novels, and books about well being and positive psychology, although I have been known to read just about anything if it sparks my interest. I read for fun, I read to learn, and I read for personal growth. From archaeology and art history to classic children’s literature and poetry, I simply love to read.
I hope this list will inspire your own summer reading or give you a few ideas for your next read.
