I realized today that I never shared our 2020 Christmas card on the blog! I shared it on my social pages, but somehow left out the actual blog post reveal. I’m sorry about that, my friends. Perhaps it is still better late than not at all. Every year since 2015 we have had a tradition of recreating classic Christmas movie posters for our holiday card. It was supposed to be just once, but it was such a big hit that we have conditioned to do so and now it is a tradition. The only year we missed was last year because we had too many personal things going on.
This year was Irvin Berlin’s White Christmas. Normally we dress completely in costume, but after a year of searching, I couldn’t find costumes that looked anything like these magical Christmas costumes from the film. So I did some photo-shopping and posted our faces in instead. I’m proud of the result. I actually used one of our wedding photos for my portrait because my puffed up hair fit the look best (which is why I have makeup on and look a bit more glam than usual) and a photo of Matthew from our honeymoon because he currently has a big beard and it just wouldn’t work. Here is the side-by-side with the original below. I hope you enjoy it.
Any recommendations for next year’s card?
