Our hosts at our New Hampshire Airbnb suggested Polly’s Pancake Parlor because they have the absolute best pancakes, and I have to say that after our visit I would have to agree! We were told that the time could be quite long, but we arrived before eight so we only had about a ten minute wait. After trekking through the lupine flower fields we actually stumbled upon Polly’s by coincidence, as there is a lovely flower field right across the street. After all of our early morning adventuring, we had worked up quite an appetite.
Polly’s Pancake Parlor has quite the long local history in Sugar Hill, New Hampshire. Polly’s first opened as a tea room and pancake house in 1938 and has beloved by locals and tourists ever since.
While you are waiting for a seat to become available, take a walk across the street to take in the mountain view.
You can also browse their gift shop and purchase local maple products as well as their famous pancake mix.
I decided to be more creative than my typical tea order and tried their hot milk with maple syrup instead. It was delicious!
I’m not a huge pancake girl (I’d much rather start my morning with an omelette and whole wheat toast), but Matthew and I decided to split some pancakes and they were so good. From the taste to the texture, I could go for more right about now. All the pancakes are made personally by your waiter or waitress so ensure that they’re perfectly fresh. If you decide to order something else, they’re eggs were really amazing too and you can always order your pancakes on the side.
If you love breakfast as much as I do, you will not want to miss Polly’s Pancake Parlor if you’re in town, especially during the lupine festival in June or if you’re visiting for the foliage in the fall.
