Since I was a little girl I have struggled with my respiratory health. It is unfortunate that my parents were both heavy smokers. While my father did quit, my mom (and her boyfriend) smoked a pack a day, chain-smoking in the house and in the car around my brother, step-sister, and I. I believe this constant second hand smoke from my childhood through my early adulthood was to blame for most of my respiratory problems. Getting away from it in my adulthood has healed my lungs significantly, but I still suffer from a seasonal post-nasal drip and bronchitis. Cardio on a cool day can also trigger an asthma attack. I am more prone to respiratory problems than most of my peers and when I do get sick my lungs take weeks to months to recover. Covid or bronchitis is a multi-month affair.
I have tried everything under the sun to help with my breathing problems. Last year I tried two new things and I believe I have found the winning combination because this is the first winter I have not had bronchitis. I believe my steam inhaler and Respiratonic hold the key to my good health this year, especially where my lungs and respiratory system are concerned.
When I was very small I had a severe kidney condition and with the help of modern medicine, the doctors at Yale Hospital, and with the aid of a naturopath I was able to heal and get healthy. Seeing the naturopath was what helped us to tip the scales in our favor. I am a big believer in science and medicine, but I also know that with proper diet, lifestyle, exercise, and natural supplements we can heal our lives and prevent disease. Which is why I often turn to natural healing. While inhalers and Broncaid have helped me in an emergency, Respiratonic and my steam inhaler have prevented my post nasal drip and respiratory problems this year. It took me many years of trial and error to find what works for me. When I notice my throat getting dry, tight, or my post-nasal drip begin I turn to these right away. On days when I know the weather will have an impact, I use these as a preventative.
It is important that I remind you that this is my personal experience. I love using Respiratonic because it truly works for me. It is a herbal supplement that is perfectly safe to use and has a high impact on my respiratory health. That being said, I am not a doctor or a health care professional. Please seek counsel from your own doctor if you are considering adding any supplement to your diet, especially if you have significant health concerns, are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking other medications. Also be sure to follow the directions for use and to not take more than recommended. I am not sharing medical advice, simply my experience and a review of a natural product I admire for it’s safe efficiency.
Respiratonic is a herbal tincture made from Echinacea angustifolia (root), Osha (root), Licorice (root), Yerba Mansa (root), Yerba Santa (leaf), Pleurisy Root, Grindelia (flower), and Ginger (root). Each one of those plants and roots promotes a stronger immune and respiratory system. I add thirty drops to my water or tea, up to three to five times a day as needed. Most days I just use it once or twice in my tea. You can add it to any beverage, but the flavor can be overpowering. It takes great in tea because of it’s earthy and herbal taste.
If thirty drops is too much, I recommend starting with just twenty and working your way up once you get used to the taste. I use this supplement at least once a day leading up to a trip when I know I will be traveling somewhere that I may have allergies to certain trees or reactions to temperature changes and altitudes. I take it once a day when the weather is changing as a preventive measure. And when I am struggling with my respiratory system I take it three to five times a day as instructed.
I love using this tincture because I truly notice the difference almost right away. It really helps clear my lungs and airways from post-nasal drip and mucus. I feel that it strengthens my immune system and respiratory system to prevent future complications. I can breathe easier and deeper. My asthma is mild and often brought on by cold air, weather changes, and cardio. It helps with that too. Since starting this supplement last year I have been able to control my reactions to bad weather conditions. If post-nasal drip or tightness in your throat due to cool temperatures is a problem for you, this tincture may give you relief.
