Sarah & Brian | Powder Mill Barn Wedding | CT Wedding Photographer

Sarah and Brian’s autumn wedding at the Powder Mill Barn was romantic, colorful, and whimsical. Every wedding I photograph is an honor, however, it was particularly special photographing Sarah and Brian’s wedding because I first met them in college a decade ago. They were newly in love and just a couple years ahead of me in school and I have always looked up to them for their kindness and creativity. They bring so much joy into the lives of their family and friends and their wedding day was no different. It was an absolutely breathtaking day.

Sarah and Brian decided to do a first look in the field behind the barn to have a special moment just for them. A surprise guest came to the wedding, Smokes, Brian’s family dog. Live music was played by Feel Good Music as guests took their seats and the bridal party prepared to walk down the aisle. The wedding officiant was Brain’s grandfather, William. I love it when the groom wears unique socks. These ones have faces that look like Sarah and Brian’s dog who could not be at the ceremony that day. The Powder Mill Barn is a beautiful rustic venue for an intimate family wedding. This historic barn was the horse barn for the Hazard Powder Co, which supplied 40% of the town’s gunpowder during the Civil War. It was converted into a dance hall in 1959 and has been the venue for dances, weddings, and events ever since. Congratulations, Sarah and Brian!
