Sarah and Brian are getting married at the beginning of October in a lovely outdoor ceremony in Connecticut. Their love for the great outdoors and Sarah’s sophisticated and lovely style is what inspired their rowboat engagement shoot. We took some elements of their favorite activities and places and combined them with some romantic inspiration including the movie, “The Notebook.”
We started their custom engagement session at Hallow Park in Woodbury, where Brian proposed to Sarah, and followed up with a dreamy location in Plymouth, Connecticut.
Sarah and Brian were a couple years ahead of me in college at Cazenovia in New York. Years ago, I had no idea that I would one day have the honor and privilege of photographing their engagement and wedding. Congratulations, Sarah and Brian!
When we started looking for rowboats, a friend of mine reached out and told me about his friend who works at the Mattatuck Boyscout Camp in Plymouth. Because the camp is closed for the summer, we were able to get this sweet little lake and rowboat all to ourselves! The cute little teepee on the island was a fun surprise. Sarah truly has a gift with flowers. She designed and made the floral arrangement on the back of the rowboat herself.
These two images were created with the help of my husband and his new drone. It is something new and creative that we will be incorporating into some photo shoots (like engagements and maybe even a couple weddings) from here on out. I would love to hear your thoughts on drone photography for engagement shoots in the comments below.
Please congratulate Brian and Sarah in the comments below.
