  I was so thrilled by they surprise engagement photo shoot all the way in Venice Florida this past Tuesday morning. In Maryland the leaves are all changed and quickly falling from the trees, leaving them barren and looking as chilly as the air feels. A beautiful 84 degree Florida day was just what I needed to rejuvenate from the end of summer blues. Shawn and Keristen woke up early to get to Venice Beach at 6 a.m. before the sunrise. We wanted to get there in time to see the sun approach the sky. Having the advantage of the dark sky for these backlit shots was also a must.
The night before Keristen confided to me her goals for their photo shoot and we only had a short while to take the photos because Keristen had to take a plane home. I’m a morning person, but I am usually not up before the sun. I might have to make it into a habit of asking my clients to meet me for sunrise instead of sunset. The morning light was magical and I was energized for the rest of my day. I adore Keristen’s white blanket and candle idea for the beach. The morning breeze kept blowing out all of the candles, but we still got these great shots. I was in photographic bliss while taking photographs of this beautiful couple on this gorgeous Florida beach. Every time I look at them I feel like I could step outside my door to warm Florida sunlight.
