Did you know that Forsythia is not native to the United States? This ordinary olive tree related bush that blooms into the most vibrant yellow all over Connecticut’s neighborhoods was actually brought to the United States from Asia around the time of World War One. It has since become a natural part of the New England landscape and is always the very first sign of spring. The vibrant yellow blooms are the first to emerge in early spring, before the leaf buds dot the tree branches and the daffodils and dandelions begin to pop from the ground. In any otherwise dreary landscape, the Forsythia is a joyful reminder that spring is finally here after a long snowy winter.
The yellow florals of this lovely spring dress from Hope & Honey remind me of the Forsythia blooms that I see all over the side of the road during my daily commute to and from work. The Hope & Honey boutique in Litchfield, Connecticut is celebrating their one year anniversary in town. We are collaborating to celebrate springtime in Litchfield this season.
This beautiful spring floral dress with puff sleeves and a charming yellow print will be available at Hope & Honey by the end of spring. It is a perfect dress for spring that transitions beautifully into a summer dress for picnics and daily wear. These beautiful Atonement Design earrings and floral daisy necklace in gold are available at the Hope & Honey boutique right now along with a stunning collection of jewelry.
I styled this dress with a trench coat, a partially recycled double-breasted trench coat from H&M and my favorite Vepose brown ankle boots for a chilly and windy spring evening. This dress layers well to dress up or down.
I adore these classic pearl and gold drop earrings. They are perfect for a casual day at work or dressed up for a special event or a date night. Atonement Designs is a socially conscious and ethically made brand featured at the Hope & Honey Boutique.
We are still in that in between period of warm and chilly days. I layer my favorite dresses with various jackets or cardigans so that I can wear my dresses even on colder and breezier days.
