Dear friends,
March was a very fast month for me. I am still looking to make big changes in my life. And while it does not feel like I am making much progress right now, I know that the seeds of all my hard work will bloom eventually. The waiting is the hardest part. This month has been a blur of hard work and I am so tired. I feel like the past year has been this way, so delving into the little things and the little joys that interrupt my otherwise stressful day has been a lifeline.
When you see a highlight reel of all the good things, it is harder to focus on the bad. Sometimes it feels like the negatives fill every gap, but when I see my month in photos I am reminded of all the positives too. Which is why I mostly share the unedited photos on my phone’s recents album. It is a snapshot of the month and a reminder to appreciate all of the little things. What little things have brought you joy this March?
For me, one of the greatest joys was being able to use the tea room again now that the days are getting slightly warmer. There is no heat in the three season rooms behind the cottage we are renting and my little space heater can only do so much. We also ordered a new rug for the tea room (curtains, a small bookcase and a reading lamp coming soon). The rug has transformed this room just as much as the paint has and makes the space extra cozy. I try to work form home in here and spend time to myself after work with a cup of tea and a good book.
The rug’s arrival day two weeks ago:
A little inside look at the tea room.
A cozy kitty.
I added grow lights to our greenhouse.
A night of bowling with Matthew and my cousins.
We bought a lot of terracotta pots to paint for crafting this spring. I’m going to sell my extra plants from the green house.
Sealed the flower pots for water proofing before I painted them.
The turkeys are back and this spring they brought friends.
A spring hike.
The cutest hand painted mug I found at Home Goods.
A Rifle Paper Co. edition of Emma for the tea room.
Last weekend I photographed the sweetest wedding in this old gristmill! It rained all morning, but the sun and blue skies came out in time for the ceremony.
On my way home from the wedding in Virginia, I stopped in Annapolis, one of my favorite US cities.
Matthew picked up a backpack for Monet to join us on local hikes.
A quiet afternoon moment in the tea room after a busy day.
I finished making the home made pom pom heart wreath I tried to make for Valentine’s Day. Next year I might add another row of pom poms to make it fuller.

Thank you for visiting me today at Hill Top Cottage. I hope you have a lovely weekend!
With gratitude,
Courtney
