I could not think of a better way to kick off the Autumn In New England series than with a 2020 wish list of everything autumn to do this year. With many places still closed and fairs and hay rides cancelled for the year you might be looking for festive alternatives this season to do around New England or right at home. I have many cozy suggestions for a good old fashioned fall and most do not require long distance travel at all.
Go on a New England leaf peeping road trip. It could be local or in another New England state.
Go apple picking at a lesser-known orchard. Perhaps even try a new orchard this year.
Bake a homemade apple pie.
Try new hot drink recipes with seasonal spices.
Do your shopping at a local farm stand or farmers market.
Visit the book barn in Niantic, Connecticut. Don’t live nearby? Look for an independent bookseller near you.
