Washington DC Cherry Blossom Festival

Cherry blossom time is one of my favorite parts of the Spring season. The leaves are not completely on the trees yet, but pastel blooms line the streets and paint the town. I took these photos the Spring before we moved to Connecticut and thought I would share them today. The blue jay skies and the monuments of the National Mall make the cherry blossoms truly shine in full bloom. I absolutely love where I live now, although I do miss being able to take the metro into DC after work. No matter where you live, make a special trip some place local to walk by the flowers. They come and go so quickly every season.
