The Little Things No. 50

Dear friends,

This is my 50th “The Little Things” Post. I started this little series at the beginning of 2020 as a weekly round up and as a way to share the behind-the-scenes ordinary moments of my life. You can see my first Little Things post here. I’m a professional photographer so most of my blog posts looks a little polished, so I wanted to create a way to share my candid moments and unedited phone photos. Posting weekly was a lot because my life is not all that exciting most weeks, so I decided to share a post at the end of each month instead as a monthly behind-the-scenes. It has been a great way to reflect on the past month and to practice gratitude for the little things.

Essentially, each post has been a collection of images of moments that had significant meaning to me from quiet moments with my cat Madeleine to daytrips around Connecticut and New England with my husband Matthew, daily walks, recipes I have made, crafts I created, books I have read, and little things that I have found beautiful, useful, or meaningful in some way.

I hope that my monthly reflections have brought you a little joy, or at least moments to pause and reflect on the little moments that made up your month. Time does pass us by so quickly, and I believe it is important to appreciate the present.

I am a little behind on sharing my round up of the month before. October was such a busy month in so many ways. Sadly, we lost a few loved ones. We ended up taking some time off to be with family and to grieve. It was also a very big month for my wedding photography business, Live Lovely Photography. So much of the month was spent working overtime. October is always popular for engagement sessions, senior portraits, family pictures, and weddings. Which also means a lot of time spent editing photos. And of course all the autumn festivities and activities I get invited to.

I invite you to appreciate the little things with me. This past month I appreciate….

Meetups with social media friends. I had the chance to meet some truly lovely bloggers, photographers, writers, and creatives at a meetup at Hogan’s Cider Mill hosted by @julesdenby.

Finding a few quiet moments to read outside while it is still warm enough to.

Discovering this tower so close to home!

A couple days in Vermont to celebrate my friend Laura’s new book.

This Vermont morning hike with my dad, Laura, and her dog Scout.

Congratulations on your new book!

Driving by these farms on my commute to and from work every day.

These old handprints from 1994 on the door in the basement of my aunt’s house. Above is my aunt Lily “Lil” and my mom is “TC.” “San” was my aunt Sandy who passed away in 2005. “CM” is 4 year old me and underneath “Dil” is my brother Dylan.
